Water

WaterWater is a very important ingredient in beer making. Additional ingredients can be added such as Burton Water Salts and gypsum.

If you are making a partial mash or extract brew there is less concern with the water you are using. However, if your water is heavily chlorinated, or excessivly hard you may want to consider using bottled water. If you opt for bottled water be sure to buy drinking or spring water. Do not buy distilled water because distilled contains no minerals that help the yeast ferment.
